    About This Position

    Job Summary:

Launch your career in disability care with our Disability Support Worker Traineeship. This entry-level opportunity is perfect for individuals with a passion for helping others but who are new to the field. As a trainee, you will work alongside experienced support workers while completing formal training (such as a Certificate III in Individual Support) - all while earning an income. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting people with disabilities under the NDIS and develop the skills needed for a rewarding long-term career. If you are eager to learn, compassionate, and ready to make a difference from day one, our traineeship program is the ideal pathway into Australia’s growing care sector.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist senior support workers in providing personal care, community access, and daily living support to clients with disabilities.
    • Learn to follow care plans and document client progress, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills grow.
    • Participate in training sessions and on-the-job coaching to develop competency in all areas of support work (communication, safety, hygiene, etc.).
    • Engage positively with clients - listening, chatting, and encouraging them - to build trust and understanding.
    • Adhere to all organisational policies and NDIS practice standards, demonstrating professionalism and a willingness to learn.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • No formal experience required - this is a training role. However, any volunteer or personal caregiving experience is a plus.
    • Genuine interest in disability support and a commitment to complete the traineeship program (including study components).
    • Excellent attitude: empathetic, reliable, eager to take initiative and ask questions.
    • Basic interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team and accept feedback.
    • Must be eligible to work in Australia and able to obtain required checks (NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children Check, etc.) during the onboarding process.
